Children are amazing to me. Even when they are little it is easy to tell what they want or what they are feeling just by their body language. When a baby scrunches up his or her face you know that it is about to be followed by a cry because something is wrong.
Babies learn to smile a long time before they start to laugh. They show that they want to be picked up by raising their arms. A bit of a wiggle will show that the same child wants to be put down. Children tell us a lot of things before they say their first word.
